Paola Escobar

Paola specializes in Flamenco and Modern Dance.  Currently, Miss Escobar teaches Flamenco at Pinecrest Dance Project. Miss Paola has taught Flamenco in many dance school and academies including, Ada Merritt Elementary School, Actors Play House, and the University Center for the Performing Arts.

Paola Escobar obtained her Bachelor in Fine Arts in Dance at the New World School of Art. Paola has danced with the modern dance company L’explose with which she participated in the Festival de Almada(Portugal ), Festival de Teatro de Cadiz (Spain), Festival de los Veranos de la Villa (Spain), Festival Madrid Sur (Spain). Festival Latinidades (Brazil).  While with the company, she also performed at La Maison de la Danse, Theatre de la Comedie (France), Teatro Colon and Teatro de la Candelaria (Colombia).  

She was part of Afro-contemporaneo 34% Visibles project and participated in the Let’s Kick Up Our Heels Festival (Canada), Festival de San Sebastian (Spain), and the Festival de Teatro de Medellin (Colombia), among others.  Miss Paola has participated in Calle Flamenca with Bailes Fer-rer (2006) and had the lead role in Las Brujas de Viaje de Regreso, at the Colony Theater (Miami Beach ). Paola Escobar received the National Prize in Colombia (2005), and the Creation Scholarship in Colombia (2002), among others.
