Pinecrest Dance Project was founded by Glenda Cajigal in 2010. Glenda specializes in Ballet, Modern Dance Techniques and Choreography. Currently, Glenda teaches Ballet and Salsa at the Village of Pinecrest Community Center, Miami, FL, as well as at The Learning Experience School, Miami FL, and at Miami Dade College, School of Continuing Education & Professional Development, Miami, FL.
She spent her formative years at the Cuban National School of Art and Dance (graduating with honors) and the Cuban Superior Institute of Art, both in Havana, Cuba. She obtained her Bachelor in Fine Arts in Theater with a Specialization in Theater and Dance from Barry University, Miami Shores, FL. Glenda Cajigal obtained her Master in Education, Curriculum and instruction from florida international university.
Miss Glenda has danced in several events, including the Super Bowl XLI at Dolphin Stadium, Miami, FL in 2007; Alicia Perversion at The City Theater, Mexico City, Mexico in 2007; and Escaleras al Cielo at the National Theatre, Havana, Cuba in 2000.
Glenda has choreographed many plays, including Alice’s Adventures in Pinecrest-Land at Pinecrest Gardens, Miami, FL (2013); 2112 at Barry University, Miami Shores, FL (2012); Little Red Dancing Shoes at Pinecrest Gardens, Miami, FL (2012); Children & Beatles at Pinecrest Gardens, Miami, FL (2011); Yoruba at Barry University, Miami Shores, FL (2011); El Canto del Hombre at The City Theatre, Mexico City, Mexico (2005).
Glenda has been recognized with numerous awards, including Best Interpretation in the International Contest “Percuba”, Havana, Cuba (1999); three times awarded 1st Place in Choreography and Female Interpretation in the National Choreography Contest, Havana, Cuba (1995, 1996, 1998).
